Which Letters Did Paul Write?
AP: I've treated this issue in my book Guía para entender el Nuevo Testamento, 4th ed. (Madrid: Trotta, 2011). Thomas and I are just going to give our lists in this post. As you can see, there is some major differences between our answers. I list a total of seven.
Here is my list: 1 Thessalonians, Galatians, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Philippians, Philemon, and Romans.
TWH: Antonio's definitely right here . . . when he says our lists are quite different. I list a total of fourteen. Here is my list: 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, Galatians, Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Philemon, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, and Hebrews.
That last one–Hebrews– is probably the one that raises the most eyebrows in scholarly circles. Who ascribes to Pauline authorship of Hebrews? There are a few of us in the world.
